MIA - Birthday and big suprise
Hi Lovelies... So I have been MIA this past month and what a month it has been!
Not only is June the month with the most birthdays in my family but it was my birthday as well!
I was born on the 2nd of June 1992, which means that I turned 23 this year! Wow! I had a pretty awesome birthday party on the 30th of May, almost everyone who are important to me were there, it was such a special time.
We worked hard and made a lot of pink snacks and sweets which looked pretty awesome!
Later that day I went to visit my grandparents. The first thing my grandmother did was took my left hand and said: "I thought today was the day!" I just laughed in confusion but told her that we weren't in a hurry, a lot of things must happen and fall into place before we could do something like that. From there I went to pick Conrad up from work and as soon as I got there I told him what had just happened, he had a weird reaction but I made nothing of it. The rest of the afternoon we spent deciding where we would go out for dinner to celebrate my 23rd Birthday.
We went to my house where we waited for my mom, she gave me my birthday presents which was a couple of photo frames. I then asked Conrad if he didn't think it would be perfect for an Engagement shoot (note that I made a lot of jokes about getting engaged). He just laughed... A couple of minutes later I jokingly asked him if he was going to propose to me that night and he said no in a irritated tone, I made nothing of it and made us a booking at Stone Cradle restaurant.
When we were driving to the restaurant Conrad asked me again why I asked him if he was going to propose, I just answered that I was joking. (This is where I began to wonder.) He then told me that he didn't have a ring for me but he did have something else... It was a letter he wrote to me! I was nagging him for almost 5 years to write me a 'love letter' and so he finally did! YAY!
I asked him to give it to me while we were driving but he told me we should park somewhere where I could read it because he wanted to see my reaction (why???), we decided to stop at the Union Building, what an amazing view!
My heart was racing all the way there as I was arguing with myself not to expect him to pop the question because I knew it wasn't going to happen that night. Once we got there he gave me the letter and got out of the car. I sat there and read it, It was the most beautiful thing I have ever read, I felt like crying! I got out of the car to thank him, he pulled me closer and held me against him, I heard his heart racing as well as he told me he loves me so very much. The next thing I knew he took my left hand, I almost didn't know what was about to happen so I said in a hushed voice said no, no. He looked at me and I saw the most amazing and beautiful man stand in front of me. Then he just asked: ''WILL YOU?". Of course I said YES!!! He pulled me closer and hugged me and for that few moments I had no emotion as if that didn't just happen (it took me a couple of minutes to process). Next thing I knew I started crying profusely, this was exactly what I wanted for so long, I get to spend the rest of my life with this man and he chose me!!!
Wow, I love him so much! The rest of the night was just a big 'blur' of letting everyone know and constantly reminding myself that I am engaged to the man of my dreams!
So I have been MIA due to the fact that I'm in a love bubble on top of the clouds. And so the planning for the big day starts...
