Winter beauty tips from A-Z (Part 2)
O – Winter can be harsh on your hair and scalp. Use a Avocado or Coconut Oil hair mask weekly or bi-weekly.
P – Coming out of cold air outside to a warm low humid inside may cause your skin to breakout but don’t pick at a pimple, the bacteria on you fingers will worsen it. Rather apply a small amount of toothpaste on the pimple to reduce swelling.
Q – Nivea Q10 contains C0Q10 which is the skins own natural anti-aging complex. It helps to firm the skin up and nourishes which means it is a great product to use during winter.
R – We are more likely to use darker lipsticks during winter so when picking a red lipstick make sure it matches your undertone. If you have a cool (pink/blue) undertone, go for a cool red. If you have a warm (yellow) undertone go for a warm red.
S – SPF is still very important during the Winter. Always use a moisturizer with SPF in the morning.
T – Very important to exfoliate before self tanning especially during winter, to remove dead skin cells.
U – It is so important to still wear protective sunglasses during winter. Look for glasses that blocks 99% - 100% UVA & UVB rays. Not protecting your eyes may lead to long term eye problems such as Cataracts.
V – For dry, cracked heals rub a lot of Vaseline all over and underneath your feet, put some socks on and climb into bed. You will not believe the difference it makes if you do it for a couple of nights.
W – We aren't bears during winter, we shouldn't hibernate. Walking outside even if it is cold will help to clear your mind and help reduce stress.
X –Allergy medicine can lead to skin drying out even more so use extra moisturizer when you have a cold.
Y – Remember if you get sick during winter and use Antibiotics, you need to get a lot of Probiotics in your system. Yogurt contains 2 Probiotics and is the easiest way to get some in your body.
Z -Did you know that Zinc boots your immune system and elevates your mood? The following foods are very high in Zinc - Dark Chocolate (YASSSS!), Garlic (probably the love of my food life), pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds & Chickpeas. I will stock up on Dark Chocolate and Garlic this winter, don't judge, its for my health! :)
xoxo
