Review: Wet 'n Wild Megaslicks Balm stain - Moisturizing lip colour

I was so excited for the balm stains to arrive in SA (which was about a year ago), I remember sending them a message asking when they will get here because I just couldn't wait! I saw a swatch and review video on YouTube and immediately started searching for them in SA.

In March 2014 they were part of the Clicks beauty fair but it was a limited addition with limited stock. I went on the second day of the fair and to my disappointment, they were sold out! I couldn't believe I've missed the opportunity to make them mine. Wet 'n wild said that if they were successful, it would become a permanent part of their range but only in SEPTEMBER! So, I patiently waited... And waited... And waited...

Finally it launched! But with very limited stock. In our area of Pretoria there are 3 Clicks stores but only one of them stocks Wet 'n Wild products. So the waiting game began again. I probably went into clicks to check once every week or 2 weeks.

At the end of January I finally got my hands on 2 of the colours (Nudist Colony & Red-dy or not). I really hoped to get some more but, beggars can't be choosers. As soon as I got in the car I tried out Nudist Colony, I will call it a very creamy 'tinted' lip balm. I wasn't impressed but believe me I wouldn't admit it to myself because I spent so much time on this! After about half an hour you could barely see any colour on my lips, definitely no stain.

I went on to try the Red-dy or not, it also applies like a lip balm, sheer at first but you can totally build up the coverage/colour intensity. It has a gloss-like finish and feel (without the tackiness).

This one, I was impressed with! It last a while on your lips and it stains like you wouldn't believe. When I went to bed that night, after I took my makeup off and washed my face, you could still see the stain, my lips were still red! And the next morning, still a reddish, pinky colour... WOW!

The formula gives the lips a tingly & cool feeling, which could be a deal breaker for some but it is only for a while. It leaves the lips moisturized and soft but not overly hydrated. In terms of packaging, I'm happy. It is such an affordable product and looks just like a product worth 2 times more. It twists up so there's no need to worry about sharpening it which is a bonus! Don't be fooled by the cap that clicks on, if you throw it in your bag it will open and leave you with a mess (I've learned this the hard way).

Available @ Selected Clicks stores & Retails for about R49.95

Final verdict - Buy all of them!
